Our Special Features are just that. We pick a topic which has been in the current news spotlight somewhere - or a topic which has been buried under a stone as some are! We then slide it back under a different spotlight for some re-examination.
We like lifting the lid on a story we feel should be looked at again - or looked at from a different angle.
In essence, our Special Features cover a wide spectrum of topics we feel are ripe for that re-examination.
A New Magna Charter?
The thoughts and images which come to mind when the 1215 Magna Carta is spoken of, include the heavy-handed King John being forced to seal an agreement as to how things were going to be done from there on.
It seems few people know, or realise, that Magna Carta is an exceptional piece of work which – importantly – describes that nothing in the kingdom can be placed above the sovereignty of the people. In other words, the People are and shall remain ABOVE kings and parliament and nothing shall change that! Wow – take that in if you will.

Get On The Fence
It wasn’t long ago that I was telling anyone who would listen [and many who would not] to get off the fence. The fence has gone, I kept saying – it’s long since collapsed - under the weight of so many people who sat on it.
But that was then – and now, I’m saying the exact opposite. There is a time for everything - and this is the time to get ON the fence! That’s my opinion, which I’ll hold until I change my mind. But what does being on the fence mean and why do I believe – that is, until I believe something different – that being on the fence is a good thing?

What Sort Of Ships See You?
It’s often said that everyone has their own opinion about Bill Gates. Is he a philanthropist, a wealthy man with an evil agenda, or somewhere in between? People are certainly divided on the man – but why IS that?
In part, the diversity of views about Bill Gates is due to the vastly different narratives about him. This diversity of views, however, is also due to vastly differing assessments of his intentions. What if we considered his actions – and more importantly the consequences of his actions – without making any assessment of his intentions?

Moussaka
Moussaka is a classic dish that is popular in Greece, the Balkans and the Middle East. Moussaka has many local and regional variations – and this is mine!
Serve it hot with a Greek salad - ingredient ideas for which are at the end of this recipe. For hungry horse types, you might partner the Moussaka with some potatoes – or warmed pitta bread perhaps. It freezes well [if there’s any left!] Once you’ve made this, you’ll never buy a ready-made Moussaka again!
