BE Kind, BE Fair, BE Honest, BE True
and all these things will come back to you
Our international news comes from the worldwide pot of news stories. The source being a national or international broadcaster - within the mainstream media fraternity - or an independent freelance citizen journalist working from their homebase.
We will pick from the extensive tableau of news items, those items we feel fit best with our own interests and those of our readers. Those items will range between general interest topics and those which are considered important, if not serious.
And They Just Keep Coming
GB News calculates, 27,678 migrants have landed on the shores of southern England since the year started, just 8mths ago. Despite the weather turning less nice - for a 30mile cruise across the channel - the flow isn’t slowing.
It’s interesting to also note, that by another calculation, the migrants arriving are mostly Albanian. We are not sure how this is known, but the suggestion is that the Albanians – most of them or some of them – are criminals. If true, to any extent, this is not such a warming thought – since we've enough criminals already and the police are incapable of catching any of them.
Jo Cox - Was She | Wasn't She?
This is one of those curious things that tend to get Conspiracy Theorists all excited - and frankly - I can understand why. The Jo Cox story is fascinating enough but adding in another dimension could make it even more so!
From out of nowhere a Joe Cox charity was started in her memory with a reported fund of £2m raised from people moved by her most untimely demise. I say untimely, but that is where the story begins. The mainstream media reported that Jo Cox – newly elected MP for Batley and Spen - was killed in the street by a crazed, lone murderer living in the same constituency
How Do We Get To Yes
What’s the biggest obstacle to getting to what we want? We all tend to think it’s the other person – the person we’re negotiating with. The surprise is - the biggest obstacle to getting what we want is none other than - ourselves.
How do we get to yes? That’s the question anthropologist William Ury has an answer for. Ury says that we all negotiate, all the time, with people at work, clients, partners, family members, friends… ourselves, even. “Losing” is often a result of not listening to the “other side.” We need to meet the “other side” where they are – which means we need to listen to them.
Stop It - It's Bugging Us
Are we racist if we don’t eat insects? The World Economic Forum [WEF] didn’t ask this question on social media - but it’s easy to understand why people believed they HAD - it’s the sort of question they WOULD ask.
Accusing people of racism to coerce them to swap beef, lamb and chicken for yummy Roast Crickets, Cockroach Bakes and Spider Pie is just the sort of thing the WEF would do. It would be in line with their usual ploy of trying to convince us that the threat to our planet is us – not them, flying in private jets to meetings, to discuss us eating bugs
